PREDATORS - Ben

It's hard to explain this film, because it's almost exactly what you'd expect. The crew behind the movie have tried their hardest to replicate what made PREDATOR the film that it was. In all fairness they have achieved this but in that lies its downfall. It's nothing new, very tried, very tested. Consequently there is very little suspense or tension in the scenes and your always fully aware of the characters that will survive and those that will not.

The Action is good but again nothing special, you will have seen it all before, most likely in PREDATOR or numerous other 80's action giants. Overall the cast is a reasonable selection with several familiar faces and primarily believable performances. However both Topher Grace and Laurence Fishburne's characters seemed unnecessary and did no more than convolute what would otherwise have been a simple, action movie plot.

Something Good:

80's style ridiculous action and some (although not as many as you'd expect) cheesy one liners.

Something Bad:

Convoluted plot with several aimless characters and lots left unexplained.

Worse than:

PREDATOR

Better than:

ALIENS VS PREDATORS

Overall: Worth a one of watch if you feel like turning your brain off for a nostalgic(ish) action romp.
