Toy Story 3 - Steel

My Rating: 10/10 - Awesome

It doesn't get any better than this! What a phenomenal movie, there is so much action, adventure and excitement in so little time you'll find yourself glued to your seat oooing and aaahing uncontrollably as the sublime plot unfolds.

The gang's back and pixar have found a winner with this plot by having the toy's owner Andy age alongside the time gap between movies. This opens up an entirely new unexplored emotional range for the toys and in succession a heart rending experience for people of all ages. Andy is growing up and moving on and the toys find themselves unsure of their future this leads to disagreement and uncertainty and starts us off on a whirlwind adventure of the utmost epic proportions.

The film travels all over, with the main portion of the movie contained with in the 'delightful' sunnyside nursery. Upon their arrival the toys think all their dreams have come true, but things quite swiftly take a turn for the worse. I won't say anymore regarding sunnyside as i certainly wouldn't want to spoil the fantastic occurences and the clever use of baddies.

The plot does have one minor issue, the over arching story line remains the same as it was all the way back in toy story 1. Something happens to pull the toys away from home and they then spend the rest of the movie on an adventure to return. However this really is a case of if it isn't broke don't fix it. The scenarios with which this simple story of being lost and returning home have seen through out the three toy story movies continues to be enchanting and different. There is no slow point nor anything that feels retread. In short even with the similarity it is of such quality and a high level of fun why care?!

Lot's of new characters turn up with some absolute crackers. Barbie and Ken provide some of the stand out hilarious moments through out the movie alongside the ever grouchy and consistently fantastic humour that emanates from mr potato head and his various guies' through out.

The film is an utter emotional roller coaster. You'll be sent to the depths of sadness and happiness as the film progress and there are some sensational low and high moments as the film reaches it's final acts. One moment strongly stood out, the consistently plucky and tenacious toys reach a point where they feel they can go no further and join hands in submission to their impending doom. This struck such an emotional note through out the cinema and few films have such the capacity needless to say you'll know what i mean when you see it.

Something Good:

Seriously all of it. Utter quality.

Something Bad:

My only issue was the retread of the same ideas but i shouldn't even put that here it's too good to really bother about.

Better Than:

Toy Story 1 & 2

Also Better Than:

UP

Overall: Don't treat this as a kids film, it is sublime and has already knocked inception of the top spot for my film of the year. Just watch it and bask in the sheer joy that it brings.
